it's very difficult to know for sure whether a late Georgian / early Victorian rose cut diamond ring is an original time period antique, but this one did recently come out of the estate of a collector who herself is nearly an antique, so that does lend confidence that this could be a real true late Georgian piece. the one attribute that offers pause is the 18k mark, which is a more contemporary style, and it's marked twice, but it's possible it was added later by a jeweler so that fallible memories weren't responsible for remembering the karat of the gold components

-milgrain edges are fading, most notably around the outer edges of the silver setting
-rosier, brassier hue throughout the gold
-more modern 18k stamps, which were very likely added more recently
this is a vintage item and will show surface scratches, dents, dings, dulling, wear, patina, and signs of having been worn and loved
