a wonderful manifestation of a gold rush era victorian signet ring in a pale rosy gold with green gold leaves and a fading bloom finish visible mostly in the recessed repousse details around the signet's oval face. why the dark oxidation around the green gold, you ask — because green gold has a high silver content, which is much more prone to oxidation, and we suspect the solder used to attach the green gold elements had a high silver content, too

the signet's face is worn, but still features a rose cut diamond slice/chip in an engraved eight point star

hallmark was lost to a previous sizing or repair, and via XRF was confirmed solid 10k

band tapers to ~1.67mm wide
diamonds is ~1.55mm 
weighs 1.54g — this signet is dainty and thin

C O N D I T I O N 

in good antique condition

many of these older settings have worn too thin to wear, but this one is in remarkably good condition for its age and very wearable (and repairable if that's eventually needed)
-one faintly visible solder seam from a previous sizing or repair
-some fading to the raised design details
-band is slightly out-of-round
-diamond is a wonky slice/chip
-heavy dark oxidation around the green gold leaves
-fading bloom (high karat) finish in the recessed details around the oval signet face
-this ring has NOT been polished and has heavy time-earned patina

this is an antique item and will show surface scratches, dents, dings, dulling, wear, patina, and signs of having been worn and loved
