Like-A-Live!

like-a-live listings are short term listings for items debuting online before they: debut in the webshop with a thorough listing with cross-collection visibility, debut in a micro-collection in a local shop, or get modified into something new

can't go wrong with a vintage ring with an interesting design story and texture to add into a stack (or not)

(from largest to smallest)

A: tricolor 10k gold rush era grape & leaf worn 'E' signet
B: tapered diamond cut pinstripe and starburst trilogy 10k band with white gold accents
C: 10k yellow gold bypass knot ring with tiny diamond solitaire with fading white gold in the illusion setting.
D: 14k +18k art deco bicolor channel-set five stone diamond ring with damage to both end stones. diamonds are matched for clarity and cut, and super sparkly, so it's a riddle whether swapping the damaged stones would make the situation better or worse. band is significantly discounted to reflect condition.
E: victorian era pale rosy unmarked solid 10k and glass 'moonstone' claw-set solitaire ring

*note: wider, flat-back rings will fit smaller than they measure

A: size 8.25, setting is ~8.3mm north/south on the finger & rises ~1.3mm off the finger, band is ~2.6mm at narrowest point at base of band, weighs 2.7g
B: size 6.75, widest part of band is 3.55mm north/south on the finger & rises ~0.8mm off the finger, band is ~2.25mm at narrowest point at base of band, weighs 1.4g
C: size 6.25, setting is ~7.6mm north/south on the finger & rises ~5mm off the finger, band is ~1.35mm at narrowest point at base of band, weighs 1.8g
D: size 5, widest part of band is ~2.6mm north/south on the finger & rises ~1.6mm off the finger, band is ~1mm at narrowest point at base of band, tiny sparkly single cut diamonds are ~1mm each, weighs 0.9g
E: size 4.75, widest part of setting is 9.15mm north/south on the finger & rises ~10.6mm off the finger, crystal ball is ~6.95mm across, band is ~2mm at narrowest point at base of band, weighs 3.4g

in good preloved condition
(note any sizing seams, large file marks, damage to stones, weird quirks)

A: this is an antique signet that was worn, loved, and has the wear patterns to prove its age. the 'E' on the signet's face is very worn, as are the grapes and their leaves. These were most often topped with crisp rose and green gold overlay on the leaves, but that's mostly worn away. there are noticeable variations in hue and luster at the base of the band from previous sizings/repairs. it's in good condition for its age, but it's old!
B: we can imagine that this band once had very sparkly diamond cut details, but they've worn significantly, leaving a more subtle floral starburst design. visible solder seam at the base of the band from a previous sizing/repair.
C: this setting appears to have been cast and the casting has many voids/defects revealing air pockets in the casting that look like dents/losses. this is an original quirk from manufacturing, rather than damage. the diamond's setting once had crisp which gold overlay, but that plating has mostly worn away. the diamond is intact, but if there's any damage its hidden by the oversized prongs that have worn to almost a flush setting.
D: an oldie and a goodie, but she has some damage, which is reflected in her price. both 'end' diamonds have significant chips. replacing old crisp single cut diamonds in a channel setting and matching the stones for cut/clarity/color can be quite a riddle, so we're leaving this ring as-is for now. the damage to the stones is very hard to spot when worn, but it's there! the base of the band is very thin.
E: was this ring ever worn? maybe rarely. a glass crystal ball meant to look like moonstone is held by a six-prong setting resembling a claw. the crystal ball is free from chips, cracks, or scratches. the prongs are tight and very crisp.

these are preloved items and will show surface scratches, dents, dings, dulling, wear, patina, and signs of having been worn and loved
