sometimes a piece draws on so many timeless design elements that it offers an instant nostalgia. this is one of those pieces. scarabs: timeless! carved tigers eye: timeless! milgrain-edged bezel: timeless! 

the carved scarab is nearly certainly from the hoards of Egyptian-revival carved cabochons that came out of the art deco era, which then showed up in jewelry from later eras. the setting's style dates this ring to the 1940s, and we're conservatively dating it slightly later

C O N D I T I O N 

in good vintage condition

-she's looking real good for 70+ years old
-stone is in great condition with minor surface wear
-milgrain details around the stone's bezel are crisp
-ring was sized up as much as possible leaving the ring's opening slightly oval
-hallmark and karat mark are almost gone thanks to time, repairs, and sizings
-visible evidence (seams) from previous sizing/repair(s)
-a polka a dot of discoloration from solder(?) on the outside of the band that's more visible because of patina — it will polish to fainter, but will return as it oxidizes again

this is a vintage item and will show surface scratches, dents, dings, dulling, wear, patina, and signs of having been worn and loved
