looking for a wearable talisman that blends visual symbolism and is manifested in two materials that have been revered throughout history? here is a spectacularly shaped and designed very vintage talon or tusk shaped jade set in a 14k yellow gold bezel bail in a nice statement size.
it seems silly to say that a pendant like this is double sided, but maybe it is? the bezel is straight along the widest flatter side of the talon and petaled on the side that comes to an almost-point. yes, that means the 'top' of the jade under the bezel cap is a funky shape (half of an oval), which offers the jade carving some interesting angles
it's a spinach-y jade with plenty of darker inclusions, and the gold has some pink undertones for a warmer hue

C O N D I T I O N
in good vintage condition
-no notable chips or cracks, but this is a large stone and some surface wear is to be expected
-bail and bezel have some uneven patina and scratches from a previous wear pattern that would easily polish off, but some people really appreciate time-earned patina on gold, so this option is left to the next caretaker (we can provide a wonderful polishing pad if you remind us)
-the point of the stone isn't a sharp point and it's tricky to tell if the very tip has worn/chipped off or if it was originally cut like this — it isn't sharp, so likely intentional?
-heavy wear to the 14k stamp on the bail
-there's the tiniest bit of jeweler's epoxy visible at the edge of the bezel
this is a vintage item and will show surface scratches, dents, dings, dulling, wear, patina, and signs of having been worn and loved
