rainbow magic!
the story has it that this was a tapered solitaire ring that didn't have enough finger presence and width for its caretaker, so they had a jeweler solder ring guard bands on either side of the original ring creating the opal sandwich you see here. the overall vibe is organic and soft, including the bezeled flush setting around the shimmering opal.

measures size 6.25 on a sizing mandrel, but will fit smaller because of the width. maybe it's fitting like a 6?

C O N D I T I O N
in good vintage condition
-opal has plenty of surface wear, as is expected from an opal in a vintage ring and has a tiny bit of wiggle in the setting
-opal is full of inclusions, but none of them seem to be cracks/damage
-center ring and ring guards are nearly matched for hue, but the center ring might be slightly more yellow
-this ring hadn't been cleaned in a long time, which meant a lot of built up yuck. we've done our best to clean it carefully (opals don't love the techniques that correspond to a thorough cleaning), but there might be some dirt we missed in the voids between the bands
-heavy dents and dings throughout
this is a vintage item and will show surface scratches, dents, dings, dulling, wear, patina, and signs of having been worn and loved
